SDA Field Coordinator for Pesanggrahan, Halim stated the project is a swift response to residents' complaints regarding frequent flooding in the area.

Utan Panjang III Road Channel Dredging Reaches 85 PercentThe project targets a 120-meter stretch where mud and silt have accumulated to a thickness of approximately one meter.
"We have deployed four personnel and one excavator unit to handle it," he explained.
He hopes that once the dredging is complete, the drainage system will return to peak performance, allowing it to manage water discharge effectively and significantly minimize—or even eliminate—flooding.
"We aim to finish it by the end of this month. We also urge residents to stop throwing trash into the drains; besides mud, we are finding a significant amount of plastic waste," he added.
Supporting it, local resident Hakim Revin noted that dredging during the dry season is crucial to anticipating the upcoming rainy season.
"I’ve seen the work firsthand, and it’s very well-organized. Personnel are very neat, immediately bagging the mud and trash they pull out," he closed.
